This Privacy Policy explains how FX Locker collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the FX Locker website, desktop apps, and related cloud services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Password credentials (stored securely through authentication providers)

  • Pro status, purchase status, and related account entitlement information

Plugin Inventory Data

  • Plugin names
  • Plugin formats (VST, VST3, AU, AAX, etc.)
  • Plugin file locations and metadata
  • Plugin inventory logs generated by scans

User Content

  • Plugin notes
  • Custom labels
  • Saved reminders or installation notes
  • License reminders, authentication notes, installer references, or other details you choose to save

Technical Information

  • Operating system type
  • App version
  • Device identifiers
  • Crash logs and diagnostic information
  • Usage analytics and performance metrics
  • Anonymous application analytics, including randomly generated installation identifiers, first app launches, scan completion events, feature usage, and related product usage telemetry that is not intended to directly identify you
  • Feature usage information, such as whether a scan, sync, checkout, or Reinstall Wizard request was completed

Payment-Related Information

  • Payment status
  • Stripe customer identifiers
  • Checkout session identifiers
  • Transaction metadata needed to activate or manage FX Locker Pro

Reinstall Wizard Information

  • Plugin names

  • Generated reinstall guidance, official download paths, and related response data

2. How We Collect Information

FX Locker collects information when:

  • You create an account
  • You log into the application
  • You run plugin scans on your device
  • You create or edit plugin notes
  • You sync your inventory to the cloud
  • You interact with the website or app
  • You launch the application or complete plugin scans, which may generate anonymous usage events
  • You purchase or attempt to purchase FX Locker Pro
  • You use FX Locker Pro features such as the Reinstall Wizard

3. Device Scanning

FX Locker scans directories and file locations associated with audio plugins in order to identify installed plugins and build your plugin inventory.

The application is intended to scan plugin-related locations and metadata only. FX Locker is not designed to intentionally collect unrelated personal files or content.

By using the application, you consent to these scans being performed locally on your device.

4. Cloud Sync and Storage

Plugin inventory logs, plugin metadata, notes, account data, Pro entitlement information, generated Reinstall Wizard guidance, and related information may be stored on cloud infrastructure in order to provide backup, syncing, account, and paid feature functionality across devices.

We use reasonable security measures to protect stored information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

5. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • Provide plugin inventory and sync functionality
  • Authenticate user accounts
  • Store and sync plugin notes
  • Activate, verify, and manage FX Locker Pro access
  • Generate Reinstall Wizard guidance when you request it
  • Maintain shared Reinstall Wizard cache records to improve performance and reduce repeated processing
  • Process payments and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Improve app stability and performance
  • Provide customer support
  • Send product updates, onboarding communications, newsletters, and marketing emails
  • Monitor abuse, fraud, or security issues
  • Develop future features and improvements
  • Measure anonymous application adoption, scan activity, and feature usage to improve the Service

6. Email Communications

We may use your email address to communicate with you about your account and the Service.

These communications may include:

  • Account verification and authentication emails
  • Password reset requests
  • Security alerts and important service notifications
  • Billing, purchase, and Pro entitlement emails
  • Product onboarding and educational content
  • Feature announcements, product updates, and release notes
  • Newsletters, promotional communications, and marketing messages related to FX Locker

You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those communications. Certain transactional, security-related, billing-related, or account-related emails may still be sent when necessary to provide the Service.

7. Reinstall Wizard and AI Services

If you use FX Locker Pro features such as the Reinstall Wizard, limited plugin-related information may be transmitted to AI service providers in order to generate reinstall guidance.

Information sent may include plugin names, vendor names, plugin formats, operating system information, version information, saved vendor download URLs, and related inventory metadata necessary to generate reinstall instructions.

We do not intentionally send user-created notes, license keys, passwords, installer file paths, authentication credentials, or other sensitive user-entered content to AI providers unless explicitly required for a feature you initiate.

8. Shared Reinstall Guidance Cache

FX Locker may store generated Reinstall Wizard guidance in a shared cache to improve performance, reduce repeated processing, and lower operational costs.

Shared cached guidance is associated with plugin information, such as plugin name, vendor, and generated reinstall instructions. It is not intended to contain personal notes, passwords, license keys, account credentials, installer paths, or other sensitive user-entered information.

9. Payment Processing

Purchases of FX Locker Pro are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. FX Locker does not directly store full payment card numbers.

We may receive limited payment-related information from the payment processor, such as transaction status, customer identifiers, checkout session identifiers, email address, and purchase metadata necessary to activate, verify, prevent fraud, and manage Pro features.

10. Third-Party Services

FX Locker may use third-party infrastructure providers, analytics tools, cloud hosting services, authentication services, AI service providers, payment processors, and related vendors to operate the Service.

These providers may process information on our behalf subject to their own privacy and security practices.

11. Data Sharing

FX Locker does not sell your personal information.

We may share information:

  • With service providers needed to operate the platform, including cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, AI service providers, payment processing, and customer support tools
  • If required by law or legal process
  • To protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the Service
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or business transfer

12. Data Retention

We may retain account information, plugin inventories, notes, logs, payment-related records, Pro entitlement data, generated Reinstall Wizard guidance, shared cache records, and related data for as long as necessary to operate the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce agreements.

We may also retain backup copies or archived records for operational and security purposes.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, or misuse.

However, no system or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

14. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining secure passwords
  • Backing up important data
  • Maintaining your own plugin licenses and installers
  • Ensuring you have rights to scan devices you use with FX Locker

15. Children's Privacy

FX Locker is not directed toward children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

16. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside your own jurisdiction where privacy laws may differ.

17. Account Deletion and Data Requests

You may request deletion of your FX Locker account and associated cloud-stored data by contacting hello@fxlocker.com.

You may also request a copy of certain account data maintained by FX Locker by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling deletion or access requests.

Certain information may be retained where required or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, payment records, dispute resolution, backup recovery, or enforcement of our Terms.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date.

Continued use of the Service after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
