Moving Ableton Live to a new computer does not require transferring ownership of your license. Install Live on the new machine, sign in to your Ableton account, and authorize it using one of the activations associated with your license.

Authorization is not ownership transfer
For your own new computer, authorize the same license. Ownership transfer is a separate process used when selling or giving Live to another person.
Two active computers
Ableton's current policy allows the registered user to use Live on two active computers owned by that user.
No normal de-authorization button
Ableton does not provide a standard way to reclaim an old authorization yourself. Support can review requests for additional unlocks.
Can you move your Ableton Live license to a new computer?
Yes. If the new computer is yours, you normally install Live, sign into the Ableton account that owns the license, and authorize the new installation.
How to authorize Ableton Live on the new computer
Sign in to your Ableton account
Use the account that contains the Live license and download the version you own.
Install Live
Install Live on the new Mac or Windows PC. Keep an older major version too if critical sessions still depend on it and it remains compatible.
Authorize with Ableton.com
Open Live and use the authorization prompt, or use Live's Licenses / Maintenance area to authorize online.
Restore Packs and content
Install Packs, Max for Live devices, User Library content, and third-party plugins separately.
Do you need to de-authorize the old computer?
Ableton currently does not provide a normal de-authorization process that lets you remove a previous unlock yourself. If you no longer use the old machine, uninstall Live from it.
What if Ableton says you are out of unlocks?
Contact Ableton Support and explain that you are replacing or rebuilding a computer. Hardware changes, replacements, and repeated reinstalls can eventually consume available unlocks.
